Survivor Koah Rong: Episode 14 Power Rankings

This season went by so fast! Can you believe it! It's widely speculated that tonight someone will be blindsided. And by someone, it's likely us. Will it be a final 2 or final 3? And if it is a final 3 what are the three tribals mentioned in the preview promo? Here is the final power rankings of the season. This is how it shakes up at the START of the episode. The immunity challenge will likely destroy these placements all depending on who wins. 

#1) Cydney (4)

Cydney finally gets the top spot. It's incredibly likely that had Joe not been medivaced she would have been out at 5. But she was saved. It was a perfect situation for her. Cydney is a likely immunity winner which should get her to the final tribal. But if it doesn't, she could be a target. 

#2) Michele (3)

Michele has skated her way to the end. Her journey has been interesting. She's sat pretty for a while. She found herself on the bottom but survived. She has had an immense amount of luck on her side. But does she have a resume that will give her the ultimate prize? Michele will be in the finals. But winning will be near impossible. 

#3) Aubry (1)

Aubry lost her extra vote in Joe. And that is detrimental. Everyone knew Aubry was a target and now she is expendable without the numbers on her side. Aubry has a great resume and a brilliant story to share should she make the final tribal council. But if the other three are smart, they will know that she is the one to beat. 

#4) Tai (5)

Tai can win. Why? Because he is an overall great guy, he did what he needed to do to get here, and because he has Mark the chicken. Tai needs to pray that should he make the final tribal council that the jury isn't bitter. If the jury is bitter, he has a few votes already against him. 

Survivor Kaoh Rong: Episode 11 Power Rankings

Not only did we NOT see a Super Idol but we watched an Immunity Idol walk out of the game with Scot. If you didn't scream at your TV during this Tribal Council, you're not a true Survivor fan. This was a turning point episode simply because there was a power shift that lead to yet another power shift. Tai now has an advantage. Does this make him the ultimate target from both sides?

#1) Aubry (7)

At this point in time if Aubry doesn't win then this season is a shame. Like her or hate her, Aubry is PLAYING. Will she go down in history as an epic winner? Nah. But she's a strong competitor. 

#2) Joe (6)

Yes, that's right. Joe has placed in the top 3 of the Power Rankings. How? He's so invisible that he is a necessity of a vote and a huge jury goat. Joe will absolutely get a vote if he makes the final but is there anyone better to take to the end?

#3) Cydney (8)

Cydney was able to get the votes off of her for a week but with Aubry being such a player, Cydney just isn't calling the shots and isn't as strong. What can Cydney do to make it to the end? Make a big move. But I don't think that's going to happen.

#4) Michele (2)

Michele is bonded to Julia. Julia is viewed as shady. Michele is in a dangerous position because she either needs to cut ties with Julia or make a pack to the end. Michele's heart will finally be tested this week.

#5) Jason (4)

Jason thought he was being cool by giving Scot his idol. He trusted Tai so much that he thought the Super Idol plan was going to work. Will Jason take his frustration out on Tai or play the game as a solo player? I think Tai (and Mark) is on the chopping block.

#6) Julia (1)

Poor Julia. Her youth is catching up to her. Where does Julia go from here? She's not as big of a target simply because she doesn't have an advantage but she's viewed as shady and needs to go. But will she? Can she work her charm to save herself?

#7) Tai (3)

Tai saved himself from making one of the worst moves in the history of Survivor. But in turn, his days are numbered. He's the lone owner of a Hidden Immunity Idol and an advantage. His target is massive. Tai has to deflect attention on someone else and make some deals quickly.

Survivor Kaoh Rong Episode 9: Power Rankings

An extra three days of not going to Tribal can send anyone into a tizzy! While we'll never know if Neal would have actually been voted had he not been medivaced, the lack of Tribal caused chaos at camp and the middle man was voted out after a female alliance formed. And this caused the top to tumble to the bottom. Can't wait to see the aftermath and how it plays out! 

#1) Julia (4)

She is harmless! Being saved in the swapped tribe has placed her in a perfect position. While the preview may say otherwise, it would be pointless to remove Julia and even up the male/female numbers despite Joe likely to vote with the women. Julia is sweet and unassuming. 

#2) Michele (5)

Michele has been a strong narrator this entire season. And that's always a good sign. But Michele has seemingly been more of a target than Julia numerous times and she doesn't have the bond with the Brawn that Julia has. Should you have them in the finals together, that's two votes for Julia and zero for Michele. But right now, Michele is more of a mastermind and thus more of a target.

#3) Cydney (3)

We rarely see a power move at this moment in the game by a storm was a brewing and Cydney came a striking. This was a great move to prove her worth but in a game of numbers, Cydney still doesn't have a number two. If the guys take her back, she's the bottom of their trio. If she stays with the women, they are broken up as Michele and Julia and Aubry and Debbie. Cydney could certainly be a swing vote free agent, but how does that read to a jury?

#4) Aubry (9)

It is utterly fascinating how Aubry's position in this game fluctuates. One week you think she's about to go home, the next she's near the top. What Aubry needs to check is her emotions. She's proven that she is an emotional player, both in front of people and singularly to the camera. Aubry has a decent pulse on the action but needs to find a way to rise to the top. And fast. 

#5) Debbie (10)

Jason and Scot will certainly be gunning for a woman this vote and if an idol gets played, Debbie seems like a perfect target. Debbie is grating and thinks her placement is much better than it is. Debbie got lucky. I fear luck will dry out soon.

#6) Joe (9)

We are all waiting for Joe to do something. And I think we're going to keep waiting. Nothing much to say, sadly.

#7) Tai (6)

Tai is America's Sweetheart and thus we forgive his giant blunder which will come back to haunt him. First he reveals the information about a Super Idol at Tribal. He tries to recover by saying that's the rumor but no one buys it. To their knowledge, there has never been said "Super Idol" before so if these players are smart, they must know that Tai either has something in his possession or knows someone who does. Tai is in big trouble, but thankfully he has two buffers. The other worrisome moment is his vote for Jason. What exactly did that mean?

#8) Scot (2)

You could swap Scot for Jason in the bottom two but I put Scot ahead of Jason only because he does have more of a chance to gain sympathy from Tai and Julia due to previous relationship. We know from the previews that Scot and Jason are about to cause more chaos, but Jason is the brains of the operation. 

#9) Jason (1)

Turning yourself into enemy number one will not win you the game. I think Jason's chances of winning are officially over. But he can easily find himself as the goat to go far. That is if he can emotionally manipulate everyone into taking him. Jason is on the path of creating a legacy for himself in the game of Survivor. I don't think it's going to be a good one though. 

Survivor Kaoh Rong: Episode 5 Power Rankings

What an emotionally powerful episode we had! Beast Mode Cowboy gets medavaced. The Blondie era has come to a close. And we are on the verge of a tribal swap! We know that the game sees its first massive change depending on how the tribes shake up. So how will it affect the players in Kaoh Rong? 

#1) Anna (1)

I'm still high on Anna. I think she is a strong enough player that no matter where she ends up, she'll be able to work with whoever she has with her from the Beauty tribe. She has strong ties to the ladies and Tai. Nick will need her. Anna is set up well. The only thing that could set her back is if she finds herself alone.

#2) Julia (3)

Julia is in a great position as she is unassuming. She is not a big threat to anyone. With the merge on the minds, there are bigger fish to fry. Unless she messes up in a challenge and finds herself as a Brawn target, Julia will do just fine.

#3) Michele (4)

It's getting really old that I keep saying see above. I think for the sake of change, this swap will do everyone good. Michele is like Julia. Unassuming. The difference is that Michele may fight back if anyone tries to mess with her game. It's the Jersey in her.

#4) Neal (5)

Neal could easily take the top spot but the difference between Neal and Anna is that Neal is male and people will assume he is more of an individual immunity threat. The other difference is that Anna appears to have tighter bonds with her tribe. Neal is on a bit shakier grounds.

#5) Jason (2)

Ok here's the thing. Jason could easily have the bottom spot right now. Jason's game depends on where he lands and with who. If he is with Scot, he is a target. If he is with Cydney, he is less of a target. If he is alone, he is an essential swing vote for someone. We know that if Jason doesn't like someone, he will let them know. It will be very interesting to see how he would handle the likes of Debbie, Tai, and some of the other different personalities.

#6) Debbie (10)

How did Debbie land this high? She showed her vulnerable side. She is breakable. While she was disappointed that she went down, it proved that she is not as strong as she thought and will now make others think the exact same thing. She may float her way into the merge and beyond. Looks may be deceiving and she is about to be underestimated. 

#7) Tai (6)

Tai was devastated that his cuddle buddy was medivaced. But more so, his biggest ally is gone. Yes, he has the idol but will he know when the right moment is? I'm worried that Tai will get lost in the shuffle.

#8) Abury (8)

We really haven't seen much game coming out of her mouth. She's been a great loyal soldier but that's about it. Again, if the bigger threats become the target, Aubry is safe. But she will be an easy scapegoat for certain people just because she appears weak. 

#9) Cydney (11)

Like Debbie, going down may actually be a blessing in disguise for Cydney. But unlike Debbie, if tribal lines are the means for the next vote, Cydney has fewer numbers on her side. Cydney needs to hope she is left alone to become a swing vote. If she is then she will become a very powerful person.

#10) Scot (9)

Scot is a puppet. He needs Jason to survive. If he is alone, he is an incredibly easy target. Just like Cliff was. But if he has Jason, they bash brothers will come out swinging. Scot's game is completely dependent on who he ends up with.

#11) Joe (12)

Joe has been a disappointment for me this season. He just hasn't done much of anything. Who is Joe as a player? Maybe this swap will give us the answer.

#12) Peter (15)

Peter must be thrilled that a swap is coming. This means he can forge new relationships. He just needs to be sure not to offend his fellow Brains because they will throw him under the bus the first chance they get. 

#13) Nick (13)

Losing Caleb is actually bad for Nick. Caleb was a slight ally and a perfect meat shield. Nick looks like a threat, despite not actually seeing that quite yet. Nick is on the bottom of the Beauty tribe. He has a unique personality. Nick needs to find the right person to align with otherwise he is an easy vote to go home.

American Idol 15: Top 14 Performance Power Rankings

The Top 14 are about to perform tonight...wait, what's that? The judges can fast track anyone they unanimously want to automatically go into the Top 10? Cool! So tonight we only get 10 performances meaning those who didn't perform will get an automatic 10 points. And those four are Dalton Rapattoni, La'Porsha Renae, Olivia Rox, and Trent Harmon. So how did the other 10 do? Here's how!

#1) Mackenzie Bourg

“Roses” by Mackenzie Bourg

There’s a reason he got the pimp spot. And he’s performing his own song. It’s a bit strange that he wasn’t given a fast pass spot but it simply may have been so he could perform this song. If something happens where he doesn’t get voted in, I’d be shocked. It’s really only a fight for five spots. Mackenzie is in the top tier this season.

Score: 9.5

#2) Sonika Vaid

“I Surrender” by Celine Dion

Her nerves have been eliminated! Sonika’s voice is the reason why she’ll make the Top 10. But watching her is still a little hard. She’ll go through, it’s no question. But she needs to loosen up as a performer and stop with the ballads!

Score: 8.5

#3) Thomas Stringfellow

“Story of My Life” by One Direction

I really like him! He’s by far one of the most marketable contestants thus far. His voice isn’t the best but it fits him and his vibe. He has great potential but the one thing that he’ll have to fit against is how he fairs up against the similar contestants to him. He’ll likely split votes with Lee and Mackenzie so being at the top of that heap will be his test.

Score: 8

#4) Gianna Isabella

“I Put a Spell on You” by Annie Lennox 

Somehow in two weeks time, Gianna grew up. She feels a lot more grounded and comfortable performing on stage. Her vocals are still not perfect but this was a good vocal for her. Now that America has a voice in Gianna’s fate, we’ll see if she’s worth saving.

Score: 8

#5) Lee Jean

“Make It Rain” by Ed Sheeran

What’s interesting and telling about this performance is that this is the song choice that the judges criticized. And he’s back doing it again. I think that’s a sign of his immaturity and inability to take critique. That will be his downfall. Vocally, it was a solid performance but I worry that his attitude will be the reason he is booted from this competition.

#6) Manny Torres

“Master Blaster” by Stevie Wonder

Manny has a silky voice but his performance seemed a bit too calculated for my liking. He has an R&B vibe that makes him unique in this competition but is he star? This is a decent performance though he doesn’t really showcase his range.

Score: 7.5

#7) Avalon Young

“Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” by Chris Brown

I was high on her at the start of the competition. But I’m not sure I really know who she is. Rather I don’t think I understand what she’s selling. This performance she tried to engage the audience and it felt awkwardly forced. Her voice is fine and could be something different in the R&B world but the package is mishmash of too many styles.

Score: 7.5

#8) Tristan McIntosh

“What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flats

She wants to do country music??? Well that changes EVERYTHING. Her voice is far too soulful for the country music industry. Will her love for country music garner attention from the country music mafia? Absolutely but this performance is not selling her potential in that genre. 

Score: 6.5 

#9) Jenn Blosil

“True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper

There’s only one thing we’ll be talking about and it’s the bedazzled eyebrows. Sorry but it’s the truth. She’s unique but this was just a bizarre twist that seemed to come out of nowhere. Vocally, it was a nice performance. But this one choice in appearance will be her make or break. And for me, I’m turned off.

Score: 6.5

#10) Jeneve Rose Mitchell

“Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash

It is near impossible for me to watch and take her seriously. At least when Adam Lambert reinvented “Ring of Fire” it was interesting. This was just weird. What lyrically makes this song a ballad? Changing something to change does not work. She’s getting the country vote and it will send her through. But this is not going to be a fun season if she continues pulling this.

American Idol 15: Top 24- Group 2 Power Rankings

My how things can change! Is it possible that the talent in Group 2 was immensely better than what we saw last week? Absolutely! Does that mean we'll lose some strong players this week simply by group placement? Yep! While the judges didn't seem so hot on everyone's performance, as a whole, this group dominated. Let's see where these 12 shape up before the duets! 

#1) Dalton Rapattoni

“Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol

What a unique version of this song! Dalton is the glam rockstar of the season so of course I’m on board. Is he as strong as someone like Adam Lambert or even James Durbin? Absolutely not, but he’s got marketability, something the others didn't quite have. And that’s HUGE.

Score: 9

#2) Trent Harmon

“What Are You Listening To” by Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton has a unique style. Trent Harmon did his own thing with the song yet maintained the integrity of the song. Again, in he sea of guitar players in the competition, Trent needs to stand out. Thankfully, he may be one who’s on the very top. Trent has a alternative-country vibe, which could be unique in mainstream music. 

Score: 8.5

#3) Lee Jean

“Runaway” by Ed Sheeran 

Lee Jean may be one the most unique performers in the competition. Sure, he’s yet another guitar player but there’s diversity in his style. He picked a great song for his voice and has a knack for the stage. The only thing he’ll get in trouble with is his age. And attitude.

Score: 8

#4) Adam Lasher

“Black and Gold” by Sam Sparro

What an interesting choice of song! And I dig it! Except that Adam's shoes are gold and the rest of the outfit is black. So points lost for being on point. He has a soulful rock voice. I dig it. Sadly, he feels a tad too generic. Will that hurt him? Most likely.

#5) Tristan McIntosh

“Good Girl” by Carrie Underwood

Tristan has a purer voice than Carrie and did well on this performance. But she’s a very internal performer, which can be bad. That being said, she could be a good addition to this competition. I could see her being an underdog.

#6) Olivia Rox

“Confident” by Demi Lovato

This began as a stripped down interpretation that worked for Olivia. And then she tried to do the Demi thing. It may be me but it’s like baby Britney trying to be edgy. And it’s not quite working for me. She’s has an interesting quality to her voice but it’s not to my taste.

#7) Amelia Eisenhauer

“Wake Me Up” by Avicii 

Amelia gave a cool take on a great song. It was a bit slow to start but when it got into the breakdown, her grove came in. She doesn’t have a powerhouse voice but it’s different enough to stand out. Her upper register is actually her best quality. She just lacks the charm that will give her a large starting fan base.

Score: 7.5

#8) Kory Wheeler

“Let It Go” by James Bay

Kory's got a nice singer-songwriter voice. He worked the song well but it was nothing special compared to some of the rest of the competition. Playing the piano killed his performance vibes, as he couldn’t showcase his abilities.

#9) Shelbie Z 

“Work Hard, Play Harder” by Gretchen Wilson

Shelbie Z, the former The Voice contestant, has a pretty decent country voice. There’s grit in her style an she certainly is having fun, but is it enough? She’s not quite a country darling. It was nothing special, sadly.

Score: 7

#10) Jenn Blosil

“Sorry” by Justin Bieber

Again with the piano! Jenn is certainly quirky and odd but she’s a little difficult to watch perform. Until she reached the chorus, it was a bit rough. She’s one of those people who has talent but not quite what an Idol should be.

#11) Manny Torres

“Adventure of a Lifetime” by Coldplay

What a bizarre song choice? But Manny did something with it. Memorable? Not quite. Does he have what it takes to be an American Idol? It’s doubtful.

Score: 6.5

#12) CJ Johnson

“I’ll Be” Edwin McCain

I forgot who CJ Johnson was until he performed…Which is not a good sign. And then he picks literally the worst song ever. His voice is like many previous Idols. And sadly, that hurts his stock in hopes of finding the final Idol. He is a raspy verse of Nick Fradiani and can’t quite hit the glory note.
